Improved Alternative Currency Handling (Update 115.5)

With the News 115.5 update, the Alternative Currency interface has been enhanced for better usability and faster payment processing.

  • New Placement: Alternative currencies are now shown on the left-hand side of the screen (previously displayed on the right) for easier identification.

  • Enhanced Visuals: Currency symbols are more prominent, and the interface now includes alternative currency notes and suggested settlement values to support quicker transactions.


What Is Alternative Currency ?

The term "alternative currency" refers to a feature that allows businesses to conduct transactions and accept payments in currencies other than their primary or default currency. This feature is particularly valuable for businesses that serve a diverse customer base or operate in international environments.

  • For example, a shop in an airport may accept several currencies from customers. If your primary currency is US Dollar, you may accept Indian Rupees INR as well.
  • The POS system able to perform these alternative currencies. To perform this, user need to setup the conversion rate and update it manually when currency rates change.
  • During the checkout process, if alternate currency payment is setup, those alternative currencies will show in the Payment Interface.

Step By Step Process

1. Login to POS Back Office Webportal
2. Select &ldquo, Settings &rdquo, from main menu
3. Go to the &ldquo, Feature&rdquo,
4. Tick ON &ldquo, Alternative Currency&rdquo, button
5. Click &ldquo, Save&rdquo,

(Once you ON &ldquo,Alternative Currency&rdquo,, it will appear as a sub-menu in the Settings section)

6. Select Alternative Currency
7. Click &ldquo,Add Alternative Currency&rdquo,
8. Enter the currency code and value
9. Click status ON
10. Click &ldquo,Save&rdquo,


(Once the &lsquo,alternative currency&rdquo, is added, then it will download to the POS app and shows in Payment Interface near the &lsquo,Amount Due&rdquo, section as a dropdown.)
